Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician Profession: Medical Laboratory Specialty: Medical Laboratory Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours (1830-0630) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: CLS or MT (ASCP) or equivalent Certifications: New MT Graduate must pass certification exam within 6 months of employment start date Must-Have: Strong blood bank experience Description: We will be doing a night shift rotation of 7 on 7 off. Training will be on day shift for 2-3 weeks. Supports and communicates laboratory initiatives and philosophies. Collects, processes, and receives specimens (including blood, urine, fecal, body fluid) for analysis in all departments of the clinical laboratory. Evaluates and solves problems related to the collection and processing of biological specimens across all age ranges. Participates in the evaluation of new techniques and procedures in the laboratory. Writes and revises technical procedures related to personnel, equipment, cost, and the establishment of reference intervals. Performs complex laboratory procedures and recognizes deviations from expected results. Analyzes and corrects problems using scientific principles. Analyzes quality control data and makes judgments concerning results. Takes appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision. Answers inquiries regarding test results, methodology, specificity, sensitivity, and factors that influence test results. Reviews all instrument indicators and temperature monitors for laboratory departments. Responsible for maintaining self-competency in laboratory skills.
